Addams family PF repair
« on: July 11, 2010, 08:03:24 PM »
Ive been working on this PF for bloody ages, most of the work has been replacing the artwork on the Mansion, literally hours and hours have gone into this... its such fiddly work.
Thats not what i want to show today... after my request for some pics of the Electric Chair, i thought id post what ive done here.

The hole here is badly damaged and a lot of the timber has been broken away... unfortunately, i dont have a pic of what it was like.
But what ive done is build up the area with Selleys KNEAD IT, sand this back and then do a "fine"fill with TAMIYA PUTTY. Gradually you can build up to what the timber should look like.
In the pic below, the hole is already been built up and is ready for a prime... you can see where the original paint and CC has been chipped back, quite a bit of artwork has been eroded.
Now, the putty finishes white and will stick out like a dogs fan dangle if left like this, as such the putty gets primed and then coloured to match existing timber. In this pic, my mask is in place and im ready to spray..

"Wood" colour is applied and result is like this

Its important to also spray inside too!

Blue, green and yellow can now be added one by one

Then finally, the black lines can be cut in to finish her off

All in all, im pretty pleased with the result. Finished PF will be CC'd and of course a Cliffy will be needed for this area for future use

Nice job mate - Do you seal your work with a CC ? Or are you doing the entire playfield ?
