What do you use to lubricate EM steppers?
« on: August 05, 2010, 02:32:43 PM »
Hi there

I know lubrication is to be used sparingly on any EM (and not at all on solenoids) however sometimes stepper units need to be lubricated ro re-lubricated.

I have seen recommendation for teflon lube however am not sure who sells it in Australia and under what brand

thanks

Ric

I've used "3 in 1 machine oil" for years on steppers. I used to use "singer" sewing machine oil. You can find the "3 in 1" oil at Bunnings.

WES components on Liverpool Rd, Ashfiled NSW sell SuperLube in a Tube, which is a teflon synthetic grease.

I think it's the one recommended in the Cliff guides and TOP dvds. I have never seen nor used it though.
