DAMN I'M A SLACK PIECE OF CRAP
« on: November 27, 2010, 05:41:56 PM »
Well I'm ready to be stoned to death here but I'm repairing a board for Jeff (pinball heaven). And using my gorgar to test it so I figured while I had it in pieces I'd finally do the memory capacitor instalation...

With the board ou I went to remove the batteries to find that I had soldered them into the holder as it had lost it's tension.  That's not so bad some might say but I did this when I first got te machine over 5 years ago ^&^

There was no leakage from any of these batteries and guessbehat brand they were..  goldbtop duracell So I guess they made them to a higher standard than they do today.

  Ok let the stoning begin

Yes, I'm guessing the older ones were probably made somewhere other than a developing nation churning out to a base spec.. .

After soldering batteries, the next step is soldering fuses into broken fuse holders :)

Seriously though, don't let it happen again  *)*

Nak, why solder in a fuse when a nail would do just as well?  <.>

I just had duracells leak in my Guitar Hero guitar, I thought they were quality batteries - maybe not.

Over the years I have found Duracells are not as good as people think, I have had several of them leak, luckly not in my pinball machines.
I definately would not recommend using the standard Duracells in any pin.
