Bally/Stern 10 credit freeplay
« on: January 28, 2011, 01:12:41 PM »
Hi Guys
Anyone know how to setup an old Stern for Freeplay?
I have a Meteor that if you have zero credits and you press the start button it will add 10 credits then start the game (leaving you with 9 credits), but if there is even 1 credit left it will not add any further credits.
There isn't a credit switch at the back of the start button, so I am guessing it is setup on the MPU somehow.
I have a mate who wants to set up his Meteor the same way.

Any ideas???

You can add a leaf switch to the credit button and wire one of the coin switches. I would not recommend that you do that - but that's how you do it.

The best way is to set the free game to 10,000 - that way, you will always have a credit on the machine. This is done by the test button on the front door. The maximum number of credits is also set via the dip switches.

Download the manual off IPDB, and it explains how to set the first free game and the dip switch settings.
