EM gotlieb Baseball -
« on: March 09, 2011, 06:34:07 PM »
Does anyone know where to look for dirty contacts on the Gottlieb Baseball em machine  that relate to it not recognising the game over when 5th ball is played.  It is intermittent and sometimes it plays 2 extra balls- sometimes 7 or 8  times on the 5th ball. I dont have a schematic or know what to look for. It used to work fine then i stopped playing it for a couple of months.  Ant help appreciated as i am wanting to sell it (Perth) but as usual with things, they play up when you want to sell and i would like to get it fixed before then.

$.$ Bigmark and  %)% to Aussie Pinball !

I don't have the schematics and I'm not that familiar with this machine,  but I'd be checking the "Game Over relay".

Also, is the "ball count stepper" moving freely - I assume the 5th Ball light is on at the start of the 5th ball ?

Id be checking the stepper unit as Strangeways suggests and the game over relay if the stepper is clean and moving freely.

Here is a link to a step by step of rebuilding a stepper unit  http://aussiepinball.com/index.php?topic=1707.0

Is the Ball Count Stepping Unit spring loaded wiping pins aligning with mating rivets as the unit steps around, especially on 5th ball?  Are the rivets & wiping pins clean? I had this problem before & this corrected it.

Also might be worth checking the interconnecting braids on the ball count unit.  I have had to replace a couple of them.

Cheers,

Scott.
