Hi Jack here, doing up my lost world have got my flippers working with out blowing fuses thanks all. My bottom thumper bumper  ( 1000 ) comes on inter mittently and  stays on even when the game is not playing, is this a stuck soleniod or are my contacts set wrong. any answers would be welcome. cheers Jack R.

First check that the pop bumper switch is adjusted properly and not set too close.

If the switch is properly adjusted, then it could be a faulty disc capacitor on the pop bumper switch.

You can try removing this capacitor to see if the problem is rectified.

Check section 3j in the first bally section of these guides for more info.

This could be one of the transistors associated with this coil on the Solenoid Driver (SD) board on its way out.

You should check the CA3081 transistor array U chip, and the corresponding TIP102 transistor.  I just fixed a problem on one of my games where the flippers would work before and after a game (ie. the flipper enable relay was always on).  This ended up being a faulty CA3081 chip, replaced it, all good.

Chances are that the switch is not gapped right or bumper skirt is not inside the spoon properly

If it's just firing and then switching off then it maybe switch related , but if it's coming on and locking on for a period of time then their could be something wrong on the driverboard with one of the transistors as previously mentioned.
Also follow the thin wire coming from the coil to make sure it hasn't rubbed though on something and shorting to ground causing the coil to fire.
