Stern Trident problem
« on: November 24, 2011, 11:46:35 PM »
OK i have trident hard but still cannot work it out.

The game powers up fine but with out any sound.

Next you can start a game but no solenoids work so the ball
will not kick out, but if you touch any of the scoring points the score
will tick over.

All the boards are fine so what to check next.
The answer is obvious iam sure but iam trident out.
Any help would be great.

I'd check the f4 fuse from memory

Hi and welcome to the forum %)%

Yes, fuse F4 on the rectifier board protects the solenoids.

As far as the sound goes, can you hear anything at all when you turn on the game?  Amplifier humm, etc.?

Check the fuse under the playfield - near the ball trough. Should be 1 or 1.5 AMP SLO BLO.

With the sound - Check the volume control knob and that the connector near the volume control is pushed in correctly. You should hear static when you turn the volume up. Also, check the ribbon cable from the MPU board to the sound board. Refit the connectors, and make sure they are aligned correctly (pin1 - pin1 etc).

So lets talk pinball, I have checked all fuses and they are good.
what i did notice was in game mode  the flipper coils pull a few mm.

Also still no sound can the too  be linked.
