HOW CAN YOU REMOVE HOT MELT GLUE FROM A PCB???
« on: December 22, 2011, 08:31:44 PM »
Hi guys im repairing a WPC driverboard and for some unknown reason they have soldered wires to the back of the GI pins (Which are perfectly fine !@#) then completely coated the area with hot melt glue...

Any way  i can remove this so i can neatly unsolder the wires or will i just have to bite the bullet and melt it off with the soldering iron?

Funny Dan I've had that on about 3 machines now.  I used a sharp blade just to lift one edge then the whole lot peeled off like a big scab.
