oh man ikea is shithouse, but i must admit its good for buying shit for a shop like desplay cases, shit you know is going to be destroyed. and its cheap cheap shit, and ikea food??? wtf dont bother ahaha. only been too ikea twice in my life and it is a spin out, once in there is no escape, you have to navigate your self around the entire shop that takes about 30 mins if you want to get out for a smoke, its a shit shop. i always thought of amart as a slightly better Ikea. but after getting the bed i was starting to question that, lol, but this replacement is pretty good. i might stick with only buying things like swivel chairs and what not from amart as it seems its a bit of a gamble, i wouldnt buy anything from ikea unless i was a student with no cash or a first timer moving out of home, or for some desplay cases for the shop. other than that ikea isnt very nice, their stuff looks trendy but when you look at it close its shit, but certainly a place if you are a kid moving out of home to get you started, if i am to ever  buy a bed again, ill buy from one of the small local guys who source local made stuff. difference i have seen from Ikea is ikea specialise in making chip board look like solid wood, lol amart make ply wood look like solid wood. id prefer amart over ikea, at least ply is better than chip board.
but i bought this bed because it was supposed to be solid wood with only ply in the draws and inside frame, the other was rotted out and wasnt solid this new one is how it should have been at least lol.

well done mate,
I bet the store that sold you the bed new it was in bad condition so instead of writing it off or sending it back for a replacement and paying shipping costs they thought they would let it go out the door with a customer and then let head office deal with it (if the customer didn't give up)

I bought a king size bed for my 125 kg caveman body and it cost me $4500 for the base and mattress only. It came with a 30 year warranty.

Its the best bed i could find in the whole country. at the time, the old bed was rooted (no pun intended) so a great nights sleep costs money. an ordinary sleep costs less, and a shit house nights sleep costs less etc. u get the picture.

i have had that new bed now for 2 years, and it is still the best bed ever. even when i went to the crown casino for $400 a night, my bed was better.

when u work out 365 days a year, say for 3 years, its 1095 days, it works out to $4 a night for a great sleep.  its cheaper in the end to pay for the best mattress when u are a stocky bastard who weighs more than most.  @.@

glad it worked out jason !

yer worked out in the end its a good frame. the mattress however was not a package deal thingo from amart, i spent a pretty penny on that badboy. as its a sit on the ground style bed its all about the matress on this style bed. i hate off the ground beds, they shake and rock and what not. the replacement is not even made of the same material the first one was, it was rediculas, and i agree with Andrew i recon they knew it was shit when selling it and left it for head office to deal with. as the store itself wasnt to interested in it. this is the first bed i have bought in about ten years, my other was still great just wanted something much bigger.
i just couldnt beleive i got sold a bed frame that was made with wood that had wood rott in it, the design and structure was fine but the material in this bed was buggered, the replacement is rock solid, head office guy said he checked it him self before sending the replacement. and then i inspected before courier left and it was happy. it will last a long time this time.

but what one person finds comfortable another wont as far as beds go. i personally like hard beds with hard mattresses
