pinball bally big time 1954
« on: February 16, 2012, 02:09:00 PM »
my pinball bally big time 1954 is always in tilt. from the moment i turn on power it is in tilt. i unplugged headbox and move the pinball from one house to next by car then reattached headbox. now when it is turned on it is permanently in tilt. the tilt pendulum mechanism inside the machine looks ok. is there anything else to look for to see might might be causing the tilt?

any suggestions would be appreciated?

Take a look inside the machine they might have a slam tilt which is a set of contacts with a weight on the end.  Check these and report back.  That if your game even has these

WOW - nice to see our first Tech problem on a Bally bingo !

I think there are tilts in the door, in the cabinet and their might be one in the head. The door would be the first place I would check. I could be wrong, but I think these had the glass tube with mercury (mercury switch). If that has moved, then the game will be in tilt mode.

I might have schematics for this game.

I think it could be the glass tube with mercury. As I it notice some broken glass come out of the machine near the front of machine or near the front door which I had never noticed before. The glass looked like a burnt light globe but it probably wasn't as I can't see any burnt light bulbs. Where is the glass tube normally situated within the machine? And are they easy to buy and replace if it is it?
