A big "Howdy" from Texas

I just stumbled across this site - always great to find a new pinball resource!  To tell you a little about myself - I was born in 1964 and started playing pinball when I was a kid.  My dad and I would play the EM's, but when I played a 1979 Williams Flash for the 1st time - that's when I knew I was hooked.  Pinball was a big part of my life up until the mid/late 80's when I was in college.  A combination of video games squeezing out pinball form the arcades, plus 'reaLife' issues made pinball a thing of the past for me.  That was until several years ago when I found the IPDB.  Seeing pics of all the old machines I played rekindled my interest.  It wasn't long after that I was looking for my 1st pin.  I got Flash a couple years ago, and the pinball addiction began.  ....I've since bought/repaired and sold a few more.  I currently own Flash, Paragon, Firepower (yes, I love the pins from the late 70's and early 80's) and a 2010 Stern Avatar.  I'm also fixing up a 1979 Gottlieb Genie that was in pretty rough shape when I got it.

I've been posting over at www.pinside.com for a while - if you want you can find threads I started there for my Firepower playfield swap, the Genie restoration, and a few mods I did on Avatar.  Again, I'm happy I found this place - look forward to browsing around more.

Y"all take care!

Welcome SunKingj, hope you enjoy the forum.

I was also born in the same year, and grew up with pins from the mid-70's to mid-80's.  Then went from then to about 2 years ago with no pins, and the interest literally "blew in" from nowhere.

I haven't really checked out much of any of the U.S. pinball forums.  Other than pinside, any other forums you would recommend?  Thanks.
