joker poker loses it's memory?

hi, i have a joker poker machine with one of those new mpu boards not the old original one. when i turn the machine off and then on again before setting and restarting i see a '335' come up on the first player and a '3' come up on the credits. it does this as part of its way to resetting. then after a couple of seconds the machine is set and ready to play with everything looking normal, except that credits are now set to '34' and the high scores are wiped. it no longer saves hiogh scores and it seems like all memory settings are wiped. anyone know what might be the problem? do these borads have ram chips for the memory like the original boards? what should i look at to rectify the memory loss problem? any help appreciated? thanks

Click on "Manual" and navigate to page 18. There's a small section there that might explain the problem. Could be a ground surge.

I had a similar issue with the two Niwumpf boards i bought two years ago, every time i switched off then back on the high scores would reset to 320,000. i cant remember if anything else reset. both boards had the fault! Initially i thought it was a RAM problem too, (they have a 6116 RAM chip from memory) so i called Bumper action, who i bought them from and they asked me to send them back. apparently it turned out to be a software problem (thats what they told me) and they simply put an updated ROM into the boards. problem was solved. Maybe yours has a similar issue?
