stern/amd warranty

just an update on my doa ac/dc.coils were locking on and started to smoke.i contacted bruce/michael at amd.they wanted the machine to be transported to amutech in adelaide so gary could look at it.I was not comfortable in doing this so i told gary when he phoned that same afternoon that i would prefere him to come out to my place.He responded with ok.
thursday my manual arived by courier and by checking this i found the suspect coils locking on, were all related to the auxillary driver board.I phoned amd and they agreed to sending me a new aux board and phone tech support when i recieve/install it.I am more than confident with this arangement however gary at amutech phoned me this morning to come out today,yes,on a sunday.I polietly declined the offer and said the situation was all under control. ^^^now that is comendable service from the warranty.

i unpluged the suspect aux board on friday and mildflame was playing the machine all weekend without a hickup.except to occasionally having to remove the ball from the kicker hole behind the bell as the coil was unplugged.i look forward to getting the new board in the mail tommorrow or tuesday.

Yes, Bruce from AMD is a top bloke. I would have no hesitation in buying from Bruce/AMD again.

I would still have the Adelaide service fellow come out Damo, because if there is something shorting on the machine that is causing the board faults, the last thing you want to do is cook the next brand new board. Let the Adelaide company do everything from here since it wont cost u a cent and will be safer all round. Just my thoughts.  ^^^

Good outcome and thanks for posting that info, Damien. It's great to hear that AMD sorted out your problems as I'm sure all other problems will be fixed for others  ^^^
