Are nylon spacers for switches available?
« on: April 08, 2012, 07:38:21 PM »
Hi all. I cleaned up my Card Whiz credit reel today and noticed the switches were mangled and the nylon spacer missing. I managed to straighten the leafs of the switches but could not find any reference to nylon spacers online at any of the suppliers I looked at. Are these available or my hunch is they come pre-assembled with switch unit? Thanks guys

Try Mark. C At pinball spares.
I am 99.9% sure he has them, so give him a ring.

After some more reading and internet exploring I found another name for these - switch blade lifters - which PBR do sell as suggested. It certainly helps if you know the name of the item you are after.

I am not sure how these spacers are fitted. Anyone fitted these before? I imagine the nylon spacer slots into the hole on the leaf switch and this might be melted to fit to the leaf switch. I tried to remove a spacer from another switch assy but they are fixed tight. Surely someone here has had to replace these before?

Yes the new ones feed through the hole you could melt it or squeeze it with small pliers to hold it in place.  What size do you need ???

I did buy these from PBR they are measured imperial ie 1/4 in 5/8 in etc. The way i fit them is place nylon lifter on a hard surface attach blade/leaf then peen over with small hammer the nylon tip. A few light taps will do the trick. sounds a bit rough but works a treat
