Flasher AC voltage drops when J102 plugged in
« on: August 09, 2012, 08:14:28 PM »
On my Indy, the flashers have not worked for a while.

Pulled power driver board out, replaced BR4, C11, put jumpers in, tested all continuity associated with the 20v circuit and all is good, as well as the fuse.  Replaced J102 plug - only thing i haven't done is replace the header pins, but the machine is very clean, not a lot of use and looks to be fine.

Problem is - When J102 is unplugged, i have 16v AC present (between pins 1 and 3), but when i plug it in, this drops to around 2V.......Initially i thought it must be a flasher locked on or shorted out or something, but with every single other plug out of the driver board, and J102 the only one in - it still has only 2v AC.  Put another driver board in, same problem....

This has led me to believe the problem is back from the J102 plug - is it only the transformer? - is there anything i can test, or is there something funky in the coin door area? - the coin door interlock switch works fine

Thanks

Rob

Finally got it sorted - ended up being a dicky coin door interlock switch.  1st game, cracked 1 Billion, so its better with the flashers working!!
