WTD Bally Slingshot switches?
« on: October 09, 2012, 09:53:52 PM »
Help,

I need a set of new 4 slingshot switches for my Bally Elvira pinball resto.

Anyone know of a sponsor that sells these?, are they sold with the L brackets pre-riveted, if not who sells rivets long enough for these switches? !@#

See attached pics for switches

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Leon

you could always use a long screw, nut and star washers instead of rivets.

Yup - that's what I do....easy, strong and works perfectly. I use 3mm bolts and 3mm lock nuts but spring washers would be fine.

Exactly what I do. You can replace them with standard Bally/Williams switches. The original Bally Part number of the switch (without the bracket) is ASW-A10-47. I think PBR would stock these.

I think these would be a good substitute ?

Hi nino,

Just looked up these switches on Greg's site, two types 1a 114 kicker and 1a 120 score?

Which one do I need? What is the difference between the two?

Sorry for all the questions?

The "score" switch as it has THREE tabs (so you can mount the diode)  ^^^

the machine will have 2 of each but it doesn't hurt to use the "score" switch on all 4 of them.

you will find that one on each slingshot will have a diode (three tabs) and the other one has no diode (2 tabs)

I picked up some screws today for the sling switches, tested them out on the old switch, yep its going to work fine, thanks for the tip  ^^^

What I do like is that it makes it easy to swap out/repair the switches in the future...

See attached pic for reference.

Now just waiting on the new replacement switches to arrive thanks greg RTBB.

BETTER than new 'cause you can pull it apart for repairs in the future if ever needed.
