Can the forum software be set to English based spelling rather than US-English?

Colour, minimise, gaol etc. are all incorrect according to the forum software.

On that note, can it be 'taught' to accept new words?

Playfield, multiball etc.

Just wondering since the word de******ion (d.e.s.c.r.i.p.t.i.o.n.) can be modified through the software.

I agree on this one, surely you can teach a few common words

for pinball parts (reproduction & mods)
for pinball t-shirts

I think you will find that your web browser is actually providing the spell-checking.

You can change the language used for spell-checking in the settings or options area of your browser.

Spell Checking is disabled on the server, so as Andrew pointed out, it will be the local machine that needs to be set.

The description word is filtered as a "censored" word.

It's easy in Firefox - just right click the word eg "playfield" and select "Add to dictionary".

The pic below shows how to default the language to English-Au.

I'm sure IE will have a similar ability in there.
