Taking pins to family days..
« on: December 15, 2012, 06:21:52 PM »
I'm going to a pre Xmas family gathering tomorrow and thinking about taking a pinball. Do other members here do the same and let others enjoy the machine ? If yes, is the pinny a hit and enjoyed ? There will be around 30 people, including plenty of kids.

If it's easy for you to get it out of your house and into your car then I say take it cause it's worth the effort.
My Nephews love playing here every time they visit . My brother asked if he could borrow a pin for my Nephews birthday party. I took over Tales From the Crypt and not only was it a huge hit at the party but I didn't get it back for over a month they had so much fun with it.
Made me happy to know they were getting pleasure from playing pinball  ^^^

I have had a family do and a friends thing here (with 2 pinnies near the living room) and the kids (boys and girls) always love it, occupied 75% of the time. Note: for me too hard to take from home due to a flight of steps.

prepare for the game to get 500 or more games on it...it will get played from the minute u arrive to the minute u leave....

one word of warning, young kids, espescially boys, always like to try n break things, scratch the cabinet, or write their initials somewhere.....u cant leave ya machine for 5 minutes...hence, dont take Avatar, take something older which can sustain a hit just incase.

That's a worry ^

I only have Avatar or AC/DC pro. Both in new condition.

Theres always a slight risk of damage when moving a pin thats why I would only do it if it was an easy move at both ends

Andy, its alot of work, and then u have an added 500 games on your machine....lots of risks, espescially since u are selling Avatar....

I would prob not risk it, one scratch or one kid trying to hang off the ball shooter rod like they tried at my last gig, n u have a long term scratch or headache....wait til u buy a cheapy n invite people over instead to play your minty machines i reckon...

Do it, don't be scared. Share the love is what I reckon, I have done this numerous times and so what if it breaks, it can be fixed!
It brings all age groups together and breaks the boring bloody monotony that is xmas meals and parties.
Plus I am known as the cool uncle with the pinnies  &&
Nothing is more enjoyable than seeing people play and have a laugh.
If it isn't broke, it isn't pinball.
