Walking Dead would be an awesome theme. Where's Carl mode. I can see the dots now and that hat. haha.

I reckon Goonies would make a great pinball theme as well. I could go on and on.

As for Disney movies, I reckon Wreck It Ralph would be a killer pinball machine. Nice and colourful and a video game theme to boot.

I'll stop rambling now.

Cheers!
Adam.

p.s. king of pop pinball would be in the same boat as Elvis for me. Not a huge fan of it in pinball form...although all the Michael Jackson songs are pretty good. If it was the Thriller horror music video theme, I may be interested, but wouldn't be rushing out to buy one.

+1

Kids are all over this at the moment. It is a great movie for adults as well. Good theme for a pinball.

There's so many options with pinball but I'm up for a zombie theme.

Underworld franchise.

Vampires vs Warewolves.

At the start of the game u can chose to be a vamp or a wwolf, just like in transformers or xfiles pinny where u chose to be a certain character.
Even a unlicenced version with cartoon character art would be great. You shoot the ball and the audio gives out a giant warewolf howl. excellent.

or

anything zombie/walking dead etc.

Hope Stern does a unlicenced theme ?  I guess it just gets down to what licences they currently have in the works ?  !@#

Missed the boat with Underworld - Perfect choice. Selene would have looked awesome in her outfit. The movies were meant to be a Trilogy, but they made four. Don't think there will be another.

House of The Dead makes sense - this is always in the arcades next to cinemas. I've seldom seen it played, but it looks like a good tie in with the Video genre.

some guys have reported from a reliable source that the following are accurate for 2013:

1) Stern is definitely doing Metallica and Star Trek - the Metallic pin will be themed with early material from the band and a Justice For All premium/LE
2) This years Stern releases will NOT have new displays... Stern is holding off until next years releases
3) XMEN code updates are coming out next week for sure!

but we will have to wait and see

Sunfox (I think is a member here) posted a a few rpg posts on pinside from the early 90's when pinballs were phasing in dmd's, which was very interesting, like history repeating itself but with different companies.

"The dot matrix display was the big thing that got me looking for this game.
I'm afraid, however, to say that I'm not sure I like it. Sure, it looks
neat and has all sorts of possibilities, but as a professor once said
(about dot-matrix printing) "I don't see an 'e', I see six little dots".
This is painfully obvious on this game. It was most refreshing to go back
to a Williams game where the letters are big, bright, and easily readable.
Will Williams follow suit? I don't know. At the very least, try to
upgrade the resolution or enlarge the screen and font size a bit. The
dot matrix display isn't a bad idea, but I think it needs some work.

The Dot Matrix display is a good idea but I think it needs some work.
IMHO, it looks too much like a bunch of dots and not enough like numbers
and letters. Maybe a little brighter would be more eye-catching as well.

I think I actually like the alpha-numerics a little better. Something
fancy on an alpha-numeric showed expertise and a little innovation.
High Speed, my favorite, does some pretty neat things in attract mode.

*sigh*, I'm still deciding whether or not I like the dot matrix displays
or not, much less COLOR displays. TAF has a beautiful logo on the dot
matrix display, which would have been impossible with alpha-numerics.
On the other hand, High Speed II: THE GETAWAY has a lovely video mode,
that I'm not sure I like. Going to a video mode seems to defeat the
purpose of playing pinball in the first place."

Thanks for those quotes Jady - i've always thought there would have been some 'concerns' about the DMD, (particularly its size in relation to alpha numeric displays) when they were introduced.  I reckon its a similar situation now.

Not that anyone's opinion is wrong, whether they like it or not,  simply an observation.

Good references there Swinks (Sunfox too!) - Very relevant in many threads at the moment.

Shame about the LCD's being held off until next year or so for Stern. Metallica could have had a real point of difference and step up from AC/DC's success.

There will be a Stern announcement to be made over the next 2 to 3 weeks, the PRO version will be released first, with the LE models the month after.

John Borg says production on the Pro will be in April-ish, with the LE production in May if production stays oncourse.

John was nice enough to communicate with me (what a top bloke) but I couldnt get any hints about the next title, yet !  !!! !!! !!!
