That HSV, it WILL leave any rice burner or super charged/turbo six in its dust. I have a friend who had a Lotus Elise until he wrapped it around a pole going thru a roundabout far too fast and ripped the car into half. (no insurance either - ouchhh)
He said it was like the WRX he also got rid of, always had to rev it to the maximum like a boy racer because it just needed more grunt.

Hence, no substitute for cubic inches, kilowatts and torque. Make it handle, and u cant lose.

I would have to disagree with that.

The Camaro ZL1 with the same 6.2L engine will do 0-160kph in 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 300kph.
The HSV should see similar numbers.

You must have tested them all to make that sort of comment. What do you drive?

A quick question to anybody who can answer it for me.

From memory, Ford Australia is in Melbourne, as is Toyota and also Holden.

That means, assuming I am correct, VIC is the Car capital of Australia, as well as the pinball capital of Australia. So u guys must have some nice top end versions-hot cars of the Big 3 manufacturers getting around. Is Melbourne (all VIC areas) a hotbed for Ford Vs Holden Vs Toyota ?? since all the factories are down there !@#  Are some suburbs Ford suburbs cause the plant is nearby, and same for Holden or Toyota ?

QLD has its share of everything and we have some cool racetracks up here and also great dragstrips, but I am wondering what a Friday night down your way is like at a set of lights, hopefully some nice HSV's sliding up next to a few Hot GT Fords !

NSW is a mixed bag of Ford and Holden with a lean towards the lion. I am a Chrysler fan from day one and have always driven modified 265 Hemis in my younger years. Always used to get bagged for driving Marickville Mercedes but those old Chryslers were bullet proof.
This HSV is not your every day car and only a handful of people will appreciate the awe of an angry 6.2L V8 in full flight.

Got some race results to go with that statement?

Nah, Holdens have been built exclusively in that little old country town called Adelaide, have been ever since the end of VL

Need to wait and see some time after August. Bit like WOZ or Metallica, everybody is excited but the proof will be in the pudding.
Out of curiosity, any turbo 6 or hot 4s good for 0-160 in 3.6 secs?

I don't know of anything sub 100 grand, stock from factory that will beat this new HSV.

I know a Ford FPV Typhoon 6cyl with a factory turbo is very quick, and can eat alot of V8s and performance cars, but 3.6 seconds to the ton/160 is motorbike quick.

If anyone can find a sub 100 K Auatralian (or other manufacturer) vehicle to beat it, I would be interested for sure.

Yes Godzilla will do quicker times but they start at $175K. For that price you can almost buy 2 HSVs. 1 to drive and 1 NIB to sell down the track.

My Godzilla came from Italy, and was only 2 grand. lol (has flippers, not tyres.lol)  @.@

Will have to look up the fastest factory Aussie Ford for the quarter/160 kilometres per hour mark.
