Gottlieb System 1 Coin Door Skin
« on: June 09, 2013, 04:02:25 PM »
I am after the coin door skin to replace the current one on my Buck Rogers.  I don't care the finish on it as I intend to get all the trim on my machine rechromed or maybe the coin door replated in zinc.  But I am looking for one that is "straight".  Mine as you can see on the pics has dings and stuff on it particularly round the coin return part, so I was thinking it might be easier to just try and get a replacement rather than attempt to get it straightened out (if that's even possible).

I don't care about the mechanics since mine has all that stuff, but if it's an all in one deal then that's fine too.

I don't have any Gottlieb machines but that door looks to be stainless steel, if so it won't take zinc or chrome. If you get a straight door skin you will be able to either re-polish or re-grain it what ever the case maybe. If your not sure how to then you could probably just take it to any engineering workshop specialising in stainless.

Has anyone ever reproduced these?  I have seen Bally door skins but I don't think I have seen any Gtb.

Not that I'm aware of, I asked PBR too and they told me they don't have any.

Not sure if its stainless steel or not? I hope not because I don't fancy polishing everything.

I think you will find that the door skin is definitely stainless.

That looks like like a pretty nice coin door, it will clean up very nicely.
