Introduction
« on: June 14, 2013, 01:56:52 PM »
Hello to everyone
Just wanting to introduce myself to this fantastic forum.
I've owned my one & only pinball for over 15 yrs now.
It's a Hankin Shark which I came by verrry cheaply, lol. ( ex caravan park, throwing it away @.@ )
It's been out of action since a late night of beers & frivolity over 10 yrs ago I spose, lol
Anyway, I've been thinking for years what to do with the old girl, and now that I've found this site, I'm hoping to resurrect her, either myself or get some good professional help to do it?

Anyway that's a little about me, and I'm looking forward to a long time enjoying this site
Cheers Geoff

Welcome Geoff.

There are a few members here with good Hankin experience who might be able to assist (not sure in any down your way though).

Can you post what's actually wrong/happening/not happening?

Im down past Leongatha, Waratah North area.

The Old girl, got nuthin happening. solenoids, bumpers all locked up, when powers on. Cant even get the self test button to work? The speaker makes a feeble little squak, when first powered up? only a cple of lights workingon back board, but im thinking blown globes the reason there.
I have found a blown fuse, on fuse panel, and it looks like theres a burnt/frizzled resistor, and a bit of smoky, burning, near what the manual says is something like a "Inverting Buffer"

Any ideas guys?

ESB is a Hankin "Empire Strikes Back" but all Hankins use the same boardset.

I am remaking the entire Hankin boardset so you won't ever have a repair issue. Chances are your machines problems will be pretty simple to sort out however. Take the offer to check the boards from Dean......mad if you don't!!!

and..welcome to AP.
