Depends on the transformer.. some will dim, some wont.
A trick we used to do years ago was to spray the tubes with paint.. even light spray does the trick and blocks much of the light from coming through depending on how much you've sprayed.

Thanks for that, ill try the dimmer and see how I go.

If no luck I may pick your brain on the paint technique, if you don't mind.

Of course!!!

Iron core transformers require a dimmer suitable for inductive loads and so a common light dimmer will not work.
SOME electronic transformers can be dimmed with a light dimmer, but most have a built in safety shut down feature and a voltage drop across the primary is often seen as a defective voltage and so the transformer may well just shut down.
My guess is that you read about the dimming on a US based site where UL listed transformers are common.. these are a high freq transformer with no safety features and can be dimmed. They are however, illegal to sell in Australia as they do not pass C tick compliance as a minimum.

There are some that have a dimmer built in. depending on the size of the sign, I may be able to get you one id required and if you feel brave enough to change it over..

Thought I would take another video as I now have a couple of new items in there.

Cactus Canyon which I have had for a few months now, and a slot machine. Well a sort of slot machine......I saw it and fell in love and just had to get it for my games room.

And I finally installed a shelf for Zultan to sit on.

As before, 5 minutes you can never get back!  %.%
