Feeling a little stupid here. In the end the problem was my ignorance not the machine.
Was under the impression it was enough to drop the shifter down and by activating the microswitch the door would open. Have been told since you need to push the launch button as well
Tested it out and it is working fine. Thanks for all your help guys,
