Nostalgic pin photos
« on: March 26, 2009, 10:49:04 PM »
I don't know if I'm missing something, but I could find how to post to the topic for this. So I've started this one.
Below are some photos I took back in the late 70s / early 80s ("when Michael Jackson still was black, those were the days ...".)
The photo of me is the day I graduated from Macquarie Uni - I spent more hours playing pinball than attending lectures. I could have got a high distinction in Advanced Pinball. I wanted a photo with Jim the pin mechanic rather than any professor.
The other is pins in Tasmania in 1978.
The last photo is Luna Park the day before the auction in 1980 or 1981.
Wanted: GTB Aquarius backglass. Any playfield bits and backglasses from any EMs - nothing is junk to me.

Look at that gorgeous King Pin in the second photo!

Heh, know that feeling. I did a Bachelor of Mathematics with a major in pinball at Newcaste University. I am still trying to remember what other pins I played, but the only one that has stuck in my mind is EBD.

the legendary auction day at luna park.
i have only been a member of this site for a couple of weeks but i have heard about this auction day so many times.
it's like first contact (the day in the movie not the movie) in startrek
its a pivotal point in history.
im glad to finally see a photo of a couple of pins that would have gone up for auction.
and the old flash pin in the back ground of the first pic, i racked up a few games on that pin.
thanks for sharing these old pics.
