My Tales from the Crypt with alternate translite
« on: August 01, 2013, 12:30:40 PM »
Hey Folks,

Just a few pics of my TFTC...  I put the alternate translite in, which personally I much prefer over the stock one.  Much more in keeping with the original EC Comics, I think.

I also put the flipper mod on to show the Crypt Keeper's fingers, which I believe is a small, but nice touch.

Machine has LEDs under playfield, but have put the standard globes back behind the back glass to eliminate the reflection issue...  Having machines now with both LED and standard globes, my personal preference is for the standard.

Cheers!

Paul.

Looks very nice! Is that the standard topper for the game?

I've never actually played a TFTC, but have always liked the look of it.  I'm guessing it's fun to play?

Great game by John Borg. I am in the process of restoring mine at the moment.

Yeah, had to forego the chick in the bikini, but overall I still like this translite better!  I found it on eBay from a guy in the USA who has a heap of different alternates for various pins.

Topper is the original one as appears in the flyer...  Again, a find on eBay from USA.

Machine plays well and is a lot of fun!  This is my first Data East and I was a little hesitant, however I shouldn't have been...

I agree, I think that is probably one of the better alternate translites that guy supplies.
That one and Raven.  :)

Machine is looking good, every one that I've seen have been quite flogged out.

Awesome machine, awesome topper and I hope to own one, one day. I like the original translite, but this alternate translite looks great!

Cheers!

Yeah, the Raven one looks good, as does the WPT..

Don't think I paid too much for it...  Definitely less than what they were asking on eBay!!

Thinking of parting with my JD and trying to get another horror themed machine now....

Once you play a TFT Crypt, u will want to buy it.
I played one game, loved the audio and spooky sounding organ music, his humour and sarcasm n swearing, the dot matrix displays x 20 different types with heads getting chopped off, warewolves, various witches n monsters, the use of the door handle as the ball shooter for various shots in video mode, the 3rd flipper, and the light show make this a bang for ya buck winner bigtime.

Its a keeper.

Had mine fully stripped n shopped with no expense spared.

My TFTC came out of the USA consulate in China. (long story). Immaculate n a keeper with a funny history.

Play this game, its addictive n ever so much fun. Women love the scary vibes n screams n all the goulish things going on with this beauty.
