No diode coils
« on: August 17, 2013, 05:04:16 PM »
Hi all

I want to replace a flipper coil on a Stern Iron Man
The original book states it is a 23-1100 'no diode' coil......P/N 090 5030 ND

I note RTBB sell them BUT they have diode across them.

Can I use that?
Do I leave the diode in place and wire 'the same way"
Do I remove the diode?

Any info would be appreciated.

Aye... Diode is there to prevent reverse EMF and voltage ramp ups on the EMF collapse... .. The turn off on a diode coil is much slower than one without.. if it states NO DOIDE then id go with the flow.. must be a STERN thing and possibly that the flipper shut down is too slow WITH diodes in place
