Best cabinet wood filling product

Just wondering what is the best product to use to fill holes etc. on a cabinet that is to be sanded down painted and re decaled.

Automotive 2 part fillers will give you best results.

i use agnews .. there might be something better .. I never tried anything else cos agnews is yet to annoy me.

You can get it in a small box with the material in a tube (rather than the tub version in the link). Dries without shrinkage and sands really well.

I'm sure others might have different ideas.

Interesting question, I've also wondeded what others use and if any product matches in better with the wood grain when it's painted over. For example I've painted over "builders bog" plenty of times ( never over a pin cab though) and the treated are is always a lot flater than the un patched areas once sanded. Do any blend better than others?

Bog goes down on bare wood and sanded flat.  High fill primer next,  sand,  re treat areas with a fine fill if needed the  second or third coat of primer and you should not see where the filler was

Thanks for the info. Sounds like there is a couple of products that you can use to fill but the primer fill coat becomes important to cover or blend filler product.

Like many have said - Builders bog is the way I go.. just don't mix too much at once as you only have a certain amount of time to work before it goes off.
To fill playfield divots I either use Plastibond ( like builders bog but a bit plasticy) or Tamiya filler from hobby shops.. the Tamiya comes out of a tube and can be applied using a clay model spatula.
Bog on a cabinet will sand back dead smooth but the timber wont.. youll get " grain raise" when you prime it and this needs to be rubbed back to smooth.. its a quick job as you are only taking back where the grain has absorbed the primer and swollen slightly... rub this back and reprime and you should get a real smooth surface.. or you can skim fill as Marty suggests
