Network error timeout

For the last two days I tried to access AP at lunchtime from my work pc and I get a network timeout error.
Has anything changed?
I can still access through my phone

Sounds like the network timeout could be your work one as your mobile can still access. That indicates the network issue is not at AP end.

If you can access without timeout errors from you phone or home, then the issue will be access from work.

Hmm bit of a strange one here, I have always been able to access AP without any problems.
Any ideas on what sort pc change could cause this?

Is it possible your work IT people have blocked access to certain sites? They may log your internet usage and have blocked this site for some reason.

Is it a small office that shares a single router for web access?  Or is it a larger place which may have a proxy and their own DNS servers?

Generally speaking, if its the latter it is most likely a problem in house.

A quick test (ensuring you are not breaking any I.T rules) bring up a command prompt on your PC (can be done by typing in cmd in the run box)

At the command prompt type in ping www.aussiepinball.com.au

You should see it bring up immediately the words " reply from " then a heap of numbers....

If you get nothing or a "request timed out error" then its either an issue with your I.T systems internally, or your ISP's DNS servers.

Now mysteriously working again.

ICMP is most likely blocked at your router, firewall or gateway appliance. Common security setting. If your problem was intermittent and it was happening from multiple PC's at your work then in might be as simple as a corrupter router table. Reboot of that router may have fixed it.
