LW3 Translite fix
« on: February 28, 2014, 10:12:08 AM »
Newly purchase LW3

Maybe this isn't a problem at all, and just specific to Data East. Does not apply to my Williams machines.

The decal behind the glass translite just floats, it is not adhered to the glass, simply held in place by some tape and the black plastic mouldings.

Is this correct, I doubt it, as you can see from the pic the 'ripples' as noticeable.

Can this one be fix/adhered correctly or do I need to start from scratch?

Thanks

With the new Stern machines, the translites are taped down to the glass with black tape. The translite needs to be flush with the glass and the tape needs to be tight. The black plastic channel then goes over the top. My Star Wars Data East is also taped down like this.

Cheers!
Adam.

Fantastic, thanks for the info, will have a go at re-taping and keeping it tight.

Cheers Trent

None of my translites are taped, simply held into place by the black moulding. Had no problems and have 6 games like this
Still loving my Metallica Premium
