Candy machine decal
« on: February 28, 2014, 06:49:09 PM »
Recently returned from USA and couldn't help myself and bought a 1 cent candy / gum machine.
I have new decals but would like to reuse the original Tennessee vending registration number.
The only problem is that it got damaged in my bag on the plane trip home.
The scratches aren't bad and will probably reuse it, or should I scan it and reprint?
I managed to remove the decal using a heat gun but I am unsure of what would be best to resticky the decal.
Any ideas on what I should use?

nice pickup, looks good

I would scan it while it is off and then try to re-apply and then you can always get it remade later, as for re-sticky maybe ultra thin 3m double sided tape.

I bought a roll of product where you unpeel one side, stick the paper or old decal on it and then remove the other side backing and the sticky glue stays on your decal.
Still loving my Metallica Premium

Thanks for the replies I might ask the craft shop what to use as I would like to clear coat the decals.
I noticed today that the octagonal cover on the carousel is covered in signatures I am guessing that the operator had to sign as he took the money and restocked the machine?

That's a very cool piece I've used the double sides tape before with good results

I ended up using off all things a thin smear of 5 minute araldite to glue the reused registration decal.
Machine is finished I just have to order some gum and mints from the USA to fit the carousels.
Pretty happy with how it has turned out
