Was our first machine. Still enjoy the theme, call outs and music. Maybe a tad biased as fan of DW but we love the time expander. We got ours from Tony (pinshed). Most i've seen range between 2.5-3.5. A few of late have been over 4k though!

I am getting cheep in my old age
Rather not spend over $3k

I don't have a problem with Tony, but the e-go depot here is bad news

I would try to play one before you buy a Dr Who.  Might just be me but it is a very underwhelming machine IMHO, especially for the money it seems to demand.

That is why I don't want to pay too much
I want to own it for 12 months and then move it on to the next guy
Hopefully not loose too much $$

Great game, highly under-rated.
Don't pay more than 3k though.

It's fun alright, no arguments there but if you are a fan of the theme then the game is really fun.
Smashing Daleks never gets tiresome imo.
I miss mine and would love another one.....one of these days.

It is a fun game. I didn't rate it that high until I had the opportunity to restore the machine correctly with the Time Expander rebuilt properly. It has a very open playfield, so you can play long shots. The Time Expander is a very cool addition to the game and ties in with the series. Multiball is a heap of fun on this game and f you are good, you can have no balls on the playfield for a couple of seconds !

Underrated - yes
fun - yes
Price - $3000-$3200 will get you a reasonable example. Very nice - $3500

Things to look for -

Time Expander MUST move freely without thumping or leaning to one side when going up or down.
Wear in front of the time expander (cliffy can hide this)
Insert wear, or drop, or separation of the clear in front of the time expander or the diamond shaped bonus inserts.

Mine has this it kind of skips (drops a little) as it rises, I assumed their is a broken gear in the motor gearbox as it isn't hitting the sides, got a replacement which I am just putting in now, hopefully solves this problem..
