ball fly away.
« on: June 02, 2014, 09:39:41 PM »
I am starting to get the ball flying off the black post to the right of the Bear Kick ramp fairly regularly as pictured when shooting from the left flipper. If hit right the ball can end up flying all the way to the pop bumpers. I have done the obvious things like changed the rubber and checked the post is right angles to the play field but still the flyaways. It is the only place on the playfield where this happens. An suggestions or ideas on how to stop this would be appreciated.

I've never heard of this problem. I would change the post rubber. Try a cliffy as they are slightly thinner and won't bounce as much.

Thanks Nino. Yeah a weird problem. I did change the rubber with the same batch as was there. I might try to replace it with a different suppliers rubber. I also think I have found the sweet spot on the left flipper for that shot so the ball is travelling with some serious speed. Maybe I should just learn to aim a bit left.  :lol

Tapered post rubber me thinks.
If it isn't broke, it isn't pinball.

I had similar bounce, cant remember what game.  I took the post out and noticed it was bent. I couldn't see it until I did take it out. If it is bent, turning it 180 degress would help.

The correct coils were installed during the rebuild. Funny thing is it was fine for 2 to 3 months after the rebuild.

I would consider this if all other options fail. Thanks

I think I might swap the post with one from another position as well as change the post rubber.

Thanks all for the ideas.

I seem to have fixed the problem with a different post rubber. The new one has a slightly wider diameter and seems a fraction softer. So far so good.
