Bally Corvette

Hi all , A  friend of mine has a Bally corvette. Problem is when using the left flipper the machine loses all power. Told him to stop using it  as there maybe a short somewhere. Can anybody shed any light on what the problem could be. Cheers.

I assume the game is rebooting which will be the 5V Capacitor and BR on the driver board.

Thanks for the reply Nino , as far as I know it reboots. Might be a job for Gibo.

As Strangeways said, it is a common problem with a failed/shorted BR (bridge rectifier).

Also you can check that the diodes on the left flipper coil are intact and have not broken loose from the solder or fallen off altogether. A lot of vibration in that area and missing/faulty diodes on coils can do weird things to a machine.

Gibo,  did you find the problem and get it sorted ?

Yes Les all sorted ,just the standard 5v reset problem,a few burnt GI connectors and a corroded battery holder
