BREAKING NEWS

Just read on the web, Ford Australia pulling out of the car racing and not renewing in 2015 but Holden has renewed V8 Supercar Licence. Ford are idiots ! Ford fans like me will be pissed off, Dicky Johnson says its a public relations disaster and insanity by Ford which will cost them $$$ plenty. DJR hasn't recovered a cent from Ford since 2008 but has stayed loyal. Maybe Ford USA might step in ?
Anyway, Ford vs Holden all over red rover !

Holden vs Mercedes vs Nissan vs Volvo....
Will my 5 yr old son even know what a Ford or the Blue Oval is when he is a teenager ?
Dumb Ford released press release 2 days before Bathurst. Public Relations Disaster.
Could have waited to after Bathurst....

The world just isn't the same anymore . Modern times don't mean better times I think sometimes...

Ford is already done in Australia why waste more money for no gain?

Its a shame but Aussie fords are virtually no more.

same with Holden, surely that will be holdens last season, they close their factory doors in 2017

The 5L Miami Ford motor is the same in the Falcon as the Mustang. The difference is that Ford Australia hand build a lot of the components (including the super charger) on the imported block and tweak extra KWs. The figures they quote are 335 KW for the XR8 and 351KW for the GT. These are MINIMUM figures and under the right conditions one will be able to get 400KW plus.

Good time for a Ford fan to buy into the last of the Aussie built cars.

New XR8 seems to be following the front styling ques from Aston Martin, much like the Fiesta. Much like the Mazda 3, 6 and the Toyota lineup. Cheaper to churn them out that way.

Unfortunately for me, the V8 Supercar series has dropped off in excitement considerably starting from 2002. Too regulated and technology has bridged the gap in driver skill levels. The Mercs and Volvos have added some more favour in recent years though, purely from the unpredictability of impact on the finish line.

I wont be missing the race on Sunday however

Nice hey. Just stomp and hang on as the speedo hits over 260 klms per hour like a missile.
The sound inside and outside the cabin would be awesome.
I am currently looking at a 290 kilowatt Boss Falcon for a great price. Car is less than 2 yrs of age and is immaculate with one owner. Mechanically A1. That's the way to buy them n save plenty.

Nothing sounds as nice a dual pipes on a big V8.
Well, maybe a naked girl cums close. Lol

They are speed limited to 250 kph. I am sure they could hit 300. The XR8 will have quad pipes, I hope they sound alright but I doubt they will have the same sweet sound as the old Clevelands.

A great day of racing. Heaps of excellent vision.
I went and bought my mum a new 65 inch LCD led TV so I can watch some car racing at mums.
She loves the TV and enjoyed watching the shootout. Was feeling generous and bought mum a new computer so she can check out pinball sites like STERN and Aussie Pinball. Mum likes the Walking Dead and loves the car racing and pinballs. A good day of technology.

Its on tomorrow, hopefully a Ford can conquer the mountain.

I used to get up early as a kid to watch it. Loved watching the older cars. SO much that when I was 17 I bought a VK Group A Brocky and went to Bathurst for the first time. I wish I still owned that car.

Then 10yrs later I worked with the V8 Supercars for the next 9 years. Travelling around Australia every year get's to you in the end.

I recently finished my home theatre room so I will be in there most of the day watching it on my 125" screen.

Good to see Gizzy on pole. He and the team are a great bunch of guys.

Well I have to say that as they work on my car.  %.%

Big FORD fan here also  :D

Ford Australia really shot them self in the foot back when they pulled out of all the other ford teams except the factory Ford team.
Following this the "Triple Eight" team went over to Holden, so ford loses two of the sports best drivers ! (I still go for Lowndes if Ford isn't a chance)
Before this Ford also lost Ambrose until he comes back next year.

Really hope Ford goes well for the rest of the season and their last year in 2015.
Hopefully something gets worked to have some sort of Ford on the grid in 2016.

Being a Ford fan, id feel the same way if this was happening to Holden, without one of them it really is over.

If Ford is no more, they should just go back to calling it the Australian Touring Car series and let all makes and engines in like they used to.
