As mentioned in it's own thread, I lost all my photos of restoration work on current machines I've been working on, so there is a gap between where I was prior to the disk failure, and where I'm up to now. So I'll try to continue this thread with recent photos.
The left metal ramp had a rusty old flap, so the flap is removed and I will repaint and refit the flap.
I've had great results with these products, unfortunately - only available from the USA.
On to the cabinet - the door needs a complete repaint, which I do for all restoration work.
The picture below shows an issue that I had on the game after reassembly - see if you can pick it out
The door is stripped, prepped, primed and then re painted
Cab bolts are painted and cleared. Just about the only "bling" I add - they look so much better !
One of the great things about working with other professional restorers, we can share knowledge and resources. Thanks to Tim at HRP - his chrome plater did an EXCEPTIONAL job on the trigger housing.
I painted and cleared the bolts
The Cannon motor assembly and driver board were repaired with the correct parts and two new switches installed.
At long last the underside is almost done !
Inside the cabinet
Speaker Pro kits installed. All boards rebuilt. New cables used also
Some projects take longer than others and sometimes things have a way of taking time - too long ! Here's a snippet of plastics I wanted to use - I ended up replacing a few - but the ONLY supplier didn't have all the plastics available at one time. so I ordered the LHS and some upper plastics and had them in my cart waiting for the RHS to be released. Received the email that they are in stock, but the LHS plastics were removed from my cart.. While exchanging emails the upper plastics (around the skull), sold out. Unimpressed, I requested that I will pay for what is in stock, and WAIT for the ones I missed to be remade.
Does not sound like too much of a drama. Only took THREE MONTHS until everything was available !
But, they were worth waiting for - here's a snippet !
More to folllow..
