Won't be the flippers, they are not on the under playfield fuse circuit. Look for wires close to the side of the playfield that could be getting pinched against grounded metal as the playfield goes down.

Found the problem. A wire was being crushed towards the back right hand side whenever the playfield the was lowered. No more blown fuses but now I'm having random restarts mid game and extra players added on start up.

I didn't cut the crushed part of the wire out as it wasn't blowing fuses once I relocated it out of the way. What's the thought on cutting and rejoining the crushed area of the wire. Is this likely to be causing the resetting/ extra players issue?
