Problem with my no good gofers
« on: January 03, 2015, 12:45:51 AM »
Hello everyone. This is my first time on here. Just wondering if anybody can give me some advice about one of my machines. All has been going great with my ngg until last night. I turned the machine on and all the flashers were on with no sound and no display. I have no idea where to start looking. Any advice would be great. Cheers!

start by making sure you have +5volts at the cpu board

Do you have the manual ?

You need to check the fuses on the driver board - As Beaky mentioned - no +5V = No game booting.

Thanks guys. Checked all fuses but no luck. I did notice that there is no power to the CPU. Something faulty on driver board maybe? My son said he had played it just before I did and it reset mid game on him but played fine once it reset.

Try reseating plugs j101 and j102 on the right side of the power driver board. These need replacing in many cases

Connector J114 on left side of driver board may need reseating also.

sorry got it mixed up with the gtb gopher machine

if its intermittent then its more than likely  bad connection or a faulty component on the driver board.

when its not working are any of the 3 leds on the cpu board (the far left rectangular board) lit? if you have no power to +5 at the cpu board then these will not light.
strange for all the flashers to be lit, usually no 5V means every thing should be off. inserts flashers flippers. etc. - except for 2 GI strings

check if LED101 on the driver board is lit. if it is not then you have a problem with the 5 volt circuit, or the connection suppling the ac input for this circuit

if it is lit then you may have +5v at the driver board. if you 4V for example led101 will still be lit but you still don't have enough voltage for the board to run.
so LED101 can tell u if the +5v is dead but it cant guarantee you if its 100%

Hi guys. Checked and no leds on CPU light up. 101 is out too. What would be my next step. Bearing in mind I'm about. 400 km from anyone that could check it for me.
Again thanks for the advice and help!
