Is there a near foolproof method to straighten coin doors?

...short of putting your knee behind it & bending till it buckles? Is anyone willing to share their method for (as far as possible) removing the ubiquitous concavity in the black williams/ bally coin doors? Ta, Andy.

buy a machine from Germany

4 Australian Bally's, bent coin door

ha - thanks Pete. too late - damn Aussie delivered machines. they run around $200 new so was hoping there might be a method worth trying before going the new route - but it is what it is I guess.

I would be cautios about bying a machine with a door that had been kneed,for if it has been kneed,chances are it has also been SLAM tilted.Picked up at the front and droped from a hieght.

just talk to the suppliers easy fix,they have the sourses.if they are out of stock they will just re-order more if there is a demand.doors and door skins are there bread and butter for the  people tidying up there machines.or save $5 bucks and buy from the states.

there is no method to straighten a coin door for fools.just hard work and time.To answer your initial enquiry-Is there a near foolproof method to straighten coin doors? answer=no.but you could research purchasing a new one.

I hear you - thanks for your help. I get a lot of satisfaction from restoring/ or at least improving the original - but take your point that sometimes it's better to just buy new.

My method is buy a new one. I tried panel beating and its very difficult. I got ok results but if you look carefully its not perfect. I think for a better job you'll need the right flat hammer etc etc and time. sorry can't help further
