Pinball's all time top toppers
« on: May 23, 2015, 01:16:17 AM »
Hi all,

Here at Pavlov Pinball I've been taking a not very serious look in to what makes a great factory topper. Here's what I figured out, and it's more than just flashing beacons....

Cheers,

Good read thanks.  Agree Dr Who should be somewhere in the list and for me personally, I think Whitewater should be No. 1 if only for the fact that it is so unique.  WH2O's only downside being that the topper doesn't actually interact with game play which is where the FT topper may top it (yes, pun intended sorry).

I wonder if anyone has ever considered making up some code so that the waterfall lights are off during a game and come on when you shoot the insanity falls ramp, during multiball etc to make it a bit more interactive.  The lights could come back on in attract mode.
Addicted to pins.

I remember seeing a Gorgar with a topper
but I think it might have been handmade, not factory
it had something like 'Gorgar, the worlds first talking pinball machine!'

no mention of strange science either

Every bogan had a "Big mouth Billy bass" on their wall back in the 90s. How could FT beat the most impressive and ingenious topper of all W-H-I-T-E-W-A-T-E-R!!!!

Always felt Fishtales topper was cool.
I never felt the love for Whitewater but understand a lot of people liked the game although a very very small playfield cause of so so much plastics taking up real estate.

Always wondered what topper Twilight Zone could have had ?
That topper could have been many unusual ideas but would have been intetesting from factory.
Behind every garage door could be a pinball collectors
