Terminator 2 R/h Flipper not working
« on: June 13, 2015, 10:10:03 AM »
Hi all,

Last night my T2 's flipper slowed then stopped working? Checked fuses..Yeap one blown ...replaced still nothing. Fuse did not blow again. Compared voltages from the other flipper , it appears no power from the power board ( J1097).  don't have the Schematic for this beast. Can anyone pls point me in the right direction and or point me in the direction of a set of schematics.

Cheers

Cheers...I have that one that is the manual. It has wiring in the back but does not have schematics. this apparently is a different manual

You need WPC schematics then?

Update:
Voltage is at coil..re checked this morning... around 70 V Dc same as the left hand side which is going. Must of had my wrong eyes in .....sorry guys.
When the cabinet switch is closed the coil tries to fire, ever so slightly...not enough to move the flipper more than about 2mm from rest. that is the best way I can describe it. I have just ordered the schematics from the US , Also been trying to nut something out via schematics online .....bloody hard bordering on impossible for me. Looks like a little opto ( U8) is the first component in ...maybe . Any clues??

Does the switch work consistently in the switch edges test?

The flipper switch contacts may need filing. Remember that T2 is controlled by a relay on the power driver board, not a fliptronics board - so power pretty much runs through the cab switch to the coil

I am progressing I think . I noticed that the EOS was shorted to it's holding bracket via the screws. I decided replace the EOS switch. That sorted the short. The flipper sort of works  now....well it moves up and down the weight of a ball is too much for it. It is super, super super weak.( three supers should be enough :) ). Any clues...cheers

Check eos adjustment, might be turning off high voltage too soon etc
Still loving my Metallica Premium

If EOS is right, maybe the high power winding on the coil has shorted, that might have caused the fuse blow?

Thanks guys.......now all sorted. Replaced the cable between coil and EOS.. looked a bit funky near where it as tinned. Ran a fly lead over the top .....away she went, de-soldered old cable and threw it to the Sh%#T House.
Appreciate all your feedback !
