WPC pinball lane change

I need sum info on how Lane change works on WPC pinballs ?
Have a small fault in my Bally Party Zone when I lane change or select a different tune or put up high score initials.

Both flippers energize as normal but in switch test only one flipper registers switch closure.
I replaced the chip at U20 / ULN2803 but nothing changed.

What controls lane change and What would I need to check  ?

There is a little 6 leg ic in the top middle of the power driver board. I am pretty sure one is for left and one for right now flipper for the high scores etc.

Check flipper button optos are working, there is a second set of optos under the main flipper ones, check they are clean and are actualy triggering the opto.

Not sure if party zone has flipper opto boards.

That tells me I am probably correct in that the lane change feature is done in software - perhaps it is a setting to turn it off or alter it somehow?

Also if it is an OEM board (A-12697-1) test the associated resistors at r210 and r211.

Problem solved after I had my old power driver board refurbished.
Problem was in the Rottendog board.

These rottendog boards seem to be a big disappointment imo. Their speil is add reliability and longevity with modern components etc and atm I'm getting at best 3-4 years of home use play. WTF does that say when 30+ years gear are still running strong. I feel refurbing an old board will give me more trouble free years than rottendog.

I was thinking exactly the same thing - constantly hearing issues with Rottendog - I guess they don't try to hide the fact they make rotten dogs of boards.....

i have had components fail on rotton dog boards while on test on a wpc test bench while testing repairs i have done to them (different components to the ones i have just changed)
