Batteries in Sterns?

Are there batteries in the newer Stern machines as in the older Bally/Williams type? Meaning the type that leak and course damage.

The older Sam system, or the new (this year) SPIKE system?

The SAM system has a small button battery, it should last 5 years

Battery is a coin cell battery CR2430 3V and will not leak.
Located on CPU/sound  PCB top right hand of backbox.

Newer sterns wouldn't have a leak problem. Wonder about the other players entering the market?

All modern options are either "embedded" systems (same as Stern) or PC based. Both these options use lithium button cell style batteries which almost never leak.

Long gone are the days of using dry cells for memory backup.
