WWF Royal rumble no solenoid power during play
« on: September 13, 2015, 11:34:07 AM »
Randomly during play on ball start the wwf pin will not kick the ball and the flippers won't work.

If you turn the game off and then back on it is ok.

Happened twice now.

I was considering the buttons on the door but they seem fine.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Mitch

Dodgy fuse holder/clips maybe?

DE machines were notorious for using badly designed fuse clips from factory and if the boards haven't been serviced since then we are talking about components that are 20 years old and subjected to years of vibration.

The vibration of gameplay could be causing intermittent contact with the clips/board which would explain the random disconnect of the solenoids.

I had this exact same issue with my Royal Rumble and found it was just it was a burnt out clip in the backbox. My problem did occur once a row of lamps faulted.
Have you checked all lamps work?

In the end it was the fuse holders.

However I did get some random reset or no boot later. It turned out to be a couple caps on the power supply. After I changed these - no more issues.

Thanks

Mitch
