Now that the channel has arrived, we can replace the rusted lift channel. Sometimes this looks like a risky process, but it is VERY easy if you take your time..

Here's the old rusted channel ;

The channel is held in place by three black adhesive strips that hold it in place VERY tightly. The trick is to heat up the strips and simply remove the channel with ease. I use a heat gun on low setting, but keep a block of timber handy to protect the glass ;

The timber block in position ;

From 20cm away, on high heat for 10-20 seconds..

It just peels away so easily !

Now all that's left to do is install the new 3/16 Trim channel, and wait for the Sling plastic to arrive. In the meantime, the game plays like new !

It has been a LONG wait, but I have a happy collector waiting just a short time for his Holy Grail !

Great to see some EM love only one thing worse imo than a dry joint is a loose contact  causing random issues.

    Nice find

Very nice mate!  ^^^
What do you use to stick the new channel to the glass?

I use pieces of electrical tape cut into 3 sections as per the original adhesive. sometimes, I need to built it up into 3 layers, but in this example, only one was needed.

It is always a pleasure to play test an EM that has been restored to this level. Makes you appreciate how good the games were back in the Golden Age of pinball. This title is no exception and one of the reasons I prefer 70's Bally over all EMs. In addition, what an artwork package !

I LOVE the clearcoat - it is not too bling for an EM. It emulates the varnish clear that was done in the 70's. The "Dull" appearance is a perfect match.

Backglass is mint. Lit up, it looks simply outstanding !

It will be thoroughly tested and triple checked before it is packed ready to ship to it's new owner. It did have some interesting wiring modifications, and I had to add chimes - more on that in the final update.

For now - it is a rare time to enjoy some EM playing time !

Very nice.  I absolutely hate the Ems with 6inch thick gloss clearcoats

This restored game is on its way to Queensland to be enjoyed by its new owner. Some bling shots before it left of course  #@#

Just love the condition and artwork on the backglass.
