Hi Guys
Following the recent addition of Fire Power to the line up 6 weeks ago you would think I would be happy but unfortunately it was not so. Sitting there next to Flash it looks very nice but it made me realize that something was missing. Introducing Gorgar
. Now there's 3 pins that in my opinion were made to go together.
Also a special thanks to my better half she brought me FP for my birthday and Gorgar for Christmas..shes a keeper boys!
A bit of background...I was told this machine has been in the garage of a house about half an hours drive past Phillip Island for the past 20 years. In that time it has had one service. What I do know is that over all it is pretty clean. Cabinet around 7.5 to 8 same as the backglass. But the best part is the playfield other than a tiny bit of rubbing on the mylar at the top area where the magnet catches the ball (snake pit I think its called?) and a little bit of ball drag in the shooter lane it really is perfect. Great color no cupped inserts really nothing that I can see. Did they mylar them in the factory ? If so I think it must be day 1 mylar and still really nice.
Everything works and sound is nice and clear (Gorgar Speaks)although it does need a very good going over. Flippers weak and sometimes shutter, few segments out on some of the displays (but work fine when you switch them around) drop targets sticky and not dropping well....just generally maintenance/service issues I think.
Its going to stay here for a month or so and I will carry out the easy stuff like clean and wax, new rubbers, drop target stickers warped plastics etc and in Jan it will go off to an expert for a proper tune/service on the electrics and mechanics..what ever it needs then back home to sit between Flash and FP..cant wait.
I will be interested to see how I like it play wise as Gorgar is a pin I used to play a lot on site as a kid.
Some pics.
