Still holding out for a GG Allin pin.

Too bad he missed the 27 Club by nine years.

Hendrix would be the ultimate!
Iron maiden is a easy pass, never liked them.
There is the Aerosmith rumor doing the rounds as well, another band I have never liked....easy pass.

That's spells it out for me too.  The artwork would be from that era - it would be stunning no matter who does it.

Hendrix did not play guitar to please anyone. He trod paths where no one dared or dreamed to go. He and Jimmy Page were in a league of their own and inspired many guitarist who tried to follow in their footsteps. A tribute pinball would be simply that.....a legacy to a legend.

Nearly all guitarists are influenced by Hendrix, Robert Johnson, B.B. King and Chuck Berry. Hendrix took it to another level - exactly as you stated - "no one dared or dreamed to go". He laid the path for Clapton, ...

...Hold on here:  "He laid down a path for Clapton".

Try to watch the 2013 movie "Jimi: All Is by My Side".  If the movie was accurate, Jimi put Clapton to shame by stealing his show with Clapton storming of stage.

I could do a Beach Boys pin, a mix of cool summer songs, wave ramp, surfboards, retro neon buildings / diner, drive-in, hotrods / woodies, girls - could be a cool pin with a blend of all the elements

Sounds good except the Beach Boys music is intensely insipid at best... I really f**king hate that band, always have.

Now a psychedelic Hendrix pin that plays the first bar of "hey Joe" when you turn it on and goes into "Purple Haze" mode as the PF lights up purple would really tempt me to dig deeper than I ever have and actual consider a Stern purchase. I would however require a cool $8K-$10K that meant nothing to be able to do this though. Once my wife finds out, it would be on the bottom of the same list as the back deck... new kitchen... new carport... shed extension... etc etc etc etc.
IF Stern do Hendrix then ill start doing Lotto again.. is my only realistic chance!

Foxy Lady - Cool animation possibility and something similar to the pole dancers on Sopranos ?
All along the watchtower - Have two large ramps with a watchtower in the middle. Ramp mode ?
Purple Haze - As Gav said - just the thought of the playfield going all purple for a mode would be awesome.
Spanish Castle Magic - Lead break during "Castle" mode MM style !

Star Spangled Banner for Wizard Mode or a High score !

Watchtower is a cover, I wouldn't dig any covers.

13 killer Hendrix tunes that would fit brilliantly on a pinball.

Purple Haze
Voodoo Chile
Wind Cries Mary
Castles Made of Sand
Highway Chile
Crosstown Traffic
Foxy Lady
Killing Floor
Little Wing
Are you Experienced
Stone Free
Machine Gun
Hey Joe

Crosstown Traffic multiball please!

Hey Joe is a cover too... hard pushed to find a bad version of this classic song. Hendix's version is brilliant

Yeah I realized that on reflection....doh!
HENDRIX is the god of guitar, imagine if he had lived longer and was maybe still alive today.....music would be in a far better shape than the pulp shite we currently get fed.

I am not offended by his music at all, just not in a pinball please.
I want more funny original themes.
Beach Boys is tongue in cheek as even their great music would just plain suck in a pinny.

Cool on the beach boys front.....couldn't see that working at all.
 :lol
Hendrix would be seriously cool for me though, this theme and a decent new Star Wars pin would be the only themes I would break my no more NIB with unfinished code rule.

From my point of view (Hard Rock / Metal) - if Hendrix didn't become the most influential musician that ever lived - there would be no KISS, AC/DC, Van Halen, Black Sabbath, Satriani, Malmsteen.. That's almost the entire Hard Rock / Genre that would not have existed.

When I received my first guitar I was pissed as it was not a Les Paul, but a Fender Strat. I'm left handed, so I was even more pissed off that it was not a right handed guitar restrung as a left handed guitar  #@#

No Hendrix - we would be completely screwed. But we would still have the Blues - Chuck Berry, BB King and Robert Johnson. That may or may not have developed into hard rock. Hendrix took the blues to another level and created generations of guitar Gods.

I guess I could put it this way - who DIDN'T Hendrix influence ?

ABBA ?
