Wedding rings are dangerous for obvious reason for the single man, but I crossed a coil with one and got a small bite. Now I've got good reasons to not wear it   #@#

Current running thru your body will create an edy current and induce current into any Conductive ring worn on the body.
So when this happens you basically inducing a secondary voltage/current into the ring.
So you become a transformer.
This is why burn marks can happen on your body.
I've seen pics of fingers melted off due to this.
Its not just rings, I've even seen wrists burned from metal watch bands.
The worst I saw was caused from a car battery.
Most electricians even in the past will not ware a metal watch for this reason.

Great point Toads.
I wore a gold bracelet on my right wrist for many many years.
It was apx 120 grams of 18 ct gold & even though I was working with electronics/electricity everyday, when it came time to wiring up everyday I had to take it off and put it in my pocket.

I learnt early in my career that gold a cross the positive and negative on a 12 volt alarm battery didn't end well.
It made u jump 10 feet in the air & you screamed like a girl.

I am sure Beaky must have pissed himself laughing a few times watching me jump thru the roof when I forgot to take it off some days at work.
I also got in the habit of not wearing a wedding ring or a watch on my left hand for the same reasons.
Now I can't wear anything cause I have got used to making sure I have nothing on.
I think every person who has ever worked with electricity or electronics has a funny and embarrassing story to tell about themselves.

They make for great entertainment on YouTube if captured, that's for sure.
