LW# right flipper stopped working
« on: April 06, 2016, 01:49:06 PM »
After a bit of advise. My right flipper on my LW3 has just stopped working. I have checked the fuses on the flipper board..all ok. Where should I go from here ? I have the schematics and will see what I can come up with .I am no expert . I have just sited at my local a few months ago....Was going fine ....bugger! I have pulled the flipper board out and brought it back home to try and see if the fault is there. Did notice "L2"wasn't flashing when the right button was pushed , ( left ok) . Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you test the fuses out of circuit?

Data East fuse holders are also notorious for becoming weak, so I'd check the tension on the holder lugs.

Edit.
Fuse F1 (3A) protects the right flipper switch circuits.

Cheers for reply Steevsee. I might have it sorted, ( hopefully). I found a resistor on the R/H circuit which looks like a dodgy solder joint . Re flowed I will test tomorrow. It can not be that easy, nothing ever is with these critters.I will report back....Thx again

I might be way off the track here, bit i seem to remember helping a bloke with the same issue a few years ago, and i think the problem might have been dry solder joints on a relay on the mpu board....all i remember it was a relay on the right hand side of the backbox.

I remember you having to teach me the difference between a GI relay and a flipper relay.  !@)

That was back in September 2010.

Thanks Rob.  <..>
