AP Icon for Favourites
« on: May 17, 2009, 12:11:03 PM »
Web design is not my area of expertise so this may be more difficult than I understand.

In my favourites, for many sites I get a small icon which appears next to it and also in the address bar at the top of the browser.  Unfortunately for AP all I get is the standard IE logo which is boring.
Is this something that can be done without too much trouble?

AP admin needs to install a small icon (and code) in it's main page,
( such as this ...... <link rel="shortcut icon" href="../favicon.ico"> )

This will then in turn download the icon to your PC/favourites.

Only AP can change this, us home users will need to wait until it get's updated  *%*

Sounds great!

One last thing, this is more for the promotion of the site rather than my liking little icons in my favourites!

My PC recently updated to IE8.  I've noticed that it has the 'suggested sites' area.  For example when I go to IPDB and goto selected sites, it brings up a list such as pinball.com at #1.
I don't know how it works, but if we could get Aussiepinball.com in the list I reckon it would be great promotion!

Hmmmm, i think that's something within the IPDB site, and AP would join/pay to get "into" their promoted sites listings.

Similar to Google, where you can pay to stay up the top of searchlists, and/or get featured in cross-promotional sites, but as always, it costs $$$$$  ^&(

Done.

Let me know if it looks OK. Thanks to Geoff who kindly donated the icon.
